Morning Hike (intermediate) - Feb. 5
Get your blood pumping with this intermediate level hike in Golden Ears Provincial Park.
Date/Time: Sunday, February 5th at 8:15am
Duration: Approximately 3 to 4 hours, depending on pace
Location: Golden Ears Provincial Park, Mike Lake Parking Lot
Trail: Whiskey West and Memorial Trail Loop (Counter-clockwise)
Distance: Approximately 10.5km, 400m elevation gain
Description: This trail begins with the infamous Incline Trail, which really does live up to its name. It's a 1km hill with almost 200m elevation gain. Once we reach the top, we'll take the Fire Access Trail and loop back on Whisky West, which travels through the edge of UBC Research Forest. We'll eventually arrive back at the Mike Lake Parking Lot.
What to bring: Please dress in layers, for the weather, wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring a water bottle and a snack. If it snows, micro-spikes are recommended to reduce slipping!
Unfortunately, because this trail travels through a portion of UBC Research Forest, dogs are not permitted.
