Motherhood shouldn't be all kids all the time.

Put YOURSELF back on the calendar!

Life as a mother can be...

...stressful.

We get it! The mental load of parenting often falls on you.  Your family probably counts on you for scheduling, planning, preparing and executing much of their daily lives.  This is a massive burden to carry.

...boring.

You've likely been told children thrive on structure and routine.  This likely means your days are looking pretty darn monotonous.  It's easy to fall into a slump when we let our lives become really small.

...messy.

You live amongst bodily fluids, toys strewn everywhere, backpacks tossed on the floor, and laundry piled high.  No wonder it's hard to find the time or space to take a moment to yourself!

...lonely.

Maybe you left your career, moved neighbourhoods, or drifted away from your former friends when you started a family.  Changes in our social circles are almost inevitable at this stage in life and that can be devastating for our social and emotional needs.

...exhausting.

Doing all the things for all the other people takes a toll on your body, mind and spirit.  If you don't find the time to refuel, you will inevitably reach burnout.

...frustrating.

While the rest of the world continues to spin you might feel left behind.  You know you have gifts and talents that go beyond changing diapers and making PB&J.  Before kids you had hobbies and ambitions that lit you up.  It's no surprise that you feel dim without them.

But it doesn't have to be!!

At Moms Gone Wild, we've been having more fun than our kids since 2017!

It's our mission to curate a wide variety of events for our diverse community of members. We truly believe every mom deserves to Go Wild.

We're proud to have hosted hundreds of events for thousands of local mothers.

The benefits of MGW extend well beyond the individual events.

Once you join you become a member of our "village".

Women who play together stay together.

We crave adult conversation and friendships that go beyond play dates, soccer fields and pool decks. One of the best things about MGW is the community that it has become. We've high-fived, comforted, motivated, laughed, encouraged and supported one another through many obstacles - both at our events as well as in "real life". It's really easy to make life-long friendships at MGW! All you have to do is show up.

Taking care of yourself allows you to take better care of others.

"You can't pour from an empty cup."

A saying we've all heard many times and yet, we all seem to struggle with.  By joining MGW you're making yourself a priority.  You're filling that cup up with every event you attend and you'll go home to your family with more patience, more energy, and more resilience.  We've actually heard of husbands reminding their wives to sign up for events. That's how much of a difference they make.

We know you're more than a mom.

It's easy to lose ourselves in motherhood.  Once we become "Baby's Mom" the other parts of our identity can fall away or feel diminished.  At MGW we love to celebrate ALL of who we are.  For most of our members it only takes one event to reignite the spark inside themselves... to remember that they have their own hobbies and dreams that are absolutely worth pursuing.  We've watched our members overcome fears, push their limits, and acheive some of their biggest goals and we can't wait to root for YOU!

Testimonials from moms like you:

  • Genuinely the best place to let go of being “a mom” and do something fun for yourself. Whether it’s kayaking for the first time, picking up a new creative skill, or sitting in a room with a group of new faces just being heard. Everyone is always so welcoming and I 100% recommend giving an event a try!

    - Elnaz Evanski

  • A fantastic experience! Supportive and fun. You never feel alone or left out - even if you attend an event by yourself. Everyone is always warm and welcoming. Cheryl has provided an amazing service with Moms Gone Wild! ❤️

    - Mary Graves

  • If you have been feeling a bit lost and dare I say it, under appreciated, as ‘xyz’s mom’ rather than who YOU are then I wholeheartedly recommend coming to a Moms Gone Wild event.

    No judgement.
    No guilt.
    No kids.
    Just YOU time.

I might be slightly biased but MGW is the mom group you’ve been looking for.

    Come out and play!

    - Amy Culshaw

  • The best thing to happen to moms in the lower mainland !! This group is so diverse and welcoming. Just try one event I can guarantee it will be a positive experience.

    - Alicia Goossens

  • I have had several great times with this group! Cheryl is so genuine and puts her heart into all of her events. Moms Gone Wild has been life changing for many!! I very much look forward to the next event and appreciate the community that Cheryl of Moms Gone Wild has created!!

    - Cheri Hamm

  • It is so easy for me to tell my kids and husband every day how proud I am of them. For some reason I never say "I am proud of myself". Last night after the flying trapeze event I came home busting at the seams with pride and said "I am so proud of myself!" I said it out loud several times and it felt so good! Thank you for planning these events because I realize now that the best way for me to teach the kids how to be proud of themselves is for me to show them how it's done. Looking forward to challenging myself again soon!

    - Jenny Goodwin

  • There are a variety of events that are enjoyable and suitable for everyone. Whether you're into the outdoors, fitness or are the artsy type, there is something for you. Cheryl is amazing and all the events have been fabulous.

  • The best community group out there! I’ve had the opportunity to participate in curling, the mental health speaker series and the MGW golf tournament! All of the moms are so friendly and welcoming and the founder/event organizer Cheryl is an amazing human being! She brings moms together and provides a supportive and safe place for them to have fun and participate in events we may have never participated in before (trapeze, kayaking, quadding, etc). If you are a mom in the community, I highly rexommend attending an event, you won’t be disappointed!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Where do events take place?
expand_less
expand_more
Our club is located in Maple Ridge, and therefore, our events are typically centered around this area.  Having said that, some of our adventures take us to neighbouring communities. We follow the fun!  For instance, we've gone snowshoeing at Mount Seymour in North Vancouver and horseback riding in Langley.  Sometime in the future we're hoping to expand our horizons even further for an overnight retreat!

The grand majority of Included Events (i.e. walks, hikes, pub nights, coffee dates, volunteer events and mental health seminars) will take place in the Ridge Meadows area.

Do I have to be a biological mom to join?  Is there an age limit?
expand_less
expand_more
Absolutely not!

We encourage anyone who identifies as a mother to join us.  It doesn't matter to us if you adopted, birthed, fostered, or a pelican dropped your kid on your doorstep, or whether you're pregnant for the first time or have 27 great-great-grandkids.

If you're a mother, you're a mother, and all moms are welcome at MGW.  We love the different persepectives and experiences that each unique individual brings to MGW.  It's a big part of what makes our club incredible.

Does the membership fee include admission to all events?
expand_less
expand_more
Included Events that are hosted by MGW are included in the annual membership.  These are comprised of hikes, walks, social events, volunteer nights and other community activities that don't require admission.  Special Ticketed Events are an additional cost, with the costs being dependant upon the third-party vendor.  These would include events like WildPlay, snowshoe tours, art workshops, meditation, etc.  In the past, costs for Special Ticketed Events have ranged from $10 (movie night) to $250 (All day ATV / jet-skiing tour).

Please note we require advance registration for all events, regardless of cost, for capacity reasons, but by no means are you required or expected to attend all of them!  Some events may have limited capacities but if those limits are reached we will do what we can to offer multiple opportunities so no one misses out.

I don't know anyone and I'm worried about coming solo.

We get it!  We were all new at some point.  Even our founder, Cheryl, has attended events in which she's not known anyone in advance.  It can feel awkward to put yourself out there and if a fear of being left out is holding you back please scroll up a little bit and read the testimonials, which are written by REAL moms who took a chance on MGW.  If those aren't enough to win you over then head over to our Facebook or Google pages and check out our reviews there.  We promise to welcome you with open arms!
What does a typical month at MGW look like?  How often do events take place?
expand_less
expand_more
Our calendar is constantly changing as we plan new and exciting experiences!  That said, we always include good mix of Included Events and Special Ticketed Events.  Each month there will be multiple opportunities to get out and explore nature, to hang out or chat with other moms, and to try new things.  As our club grows, so will our offerings so please invite your friends!

Here's an example of what a month at MGW might look like.  You're welcome to check out our social media pages (@momsgonewildcanada on IG and FB) to see our current calendar.

If you're trying to view the calendar on a mobile device you may wish to open the image in a separate image or download it directly to your phone or tablet to make it easier to view.
Do you offer refunds?

expand_more
We're proud of what we do at MGW and are confident that you'll be satisfied with our club and its offerings.  Due to the nature of our industry we are unable to offer refunds because payments are made to our hosts and vendors in advance of our events.  If you have any concerns or questions or are unsatisfied with your experience at MGW please reach out to us at cheryl@momsgonewild.ca.  As our reputation indicates, we take pride in meeting your expectations.

Please review our Membership Agreement for more information.

I'm a member but my friend's not.  Can she join events?

Yes!  We understand that you want to share the benefits of MGW with your friends and love it when you introduce them to MGW!  We allow members to bring up to 2 guests per event.  Each guest is allowed to attend 2 events before they are required to sign up for their own membership.  Members are responsible for booking tickets for their friends and passing along relavent event information.  Please email cheryl@momsgonewild.ca if you have any questions about this policy.
I'd really like to try an event before joining.  Is that an option?

While we do offer our mental health seminars to the public the rest of our events require a membership.  We do this because we want you to fully commit to yourself!  You deserve to go wild more than once every few months and we're here to remind you of that.  If you're not ready for our full annual membership we have a 3 month option which is packed with value!
I have an awesome idea for an event!  Can you make it happen?

Maybe!!  I'd love to hear about it and do my best to bring it to life.  Please email me at cheryl@momsgonewild.ca.
Is it true MGW performed a flash mob in front of 18,000 people at a Canucks game?!

expand_more
We sure did!!  It was a once in a lifetime experience and one of our member's lifelong dreams!  We dressed as zombies and danced to Michael Jackson's "Thriller".  While this event likely won't ever be repeated we're always on the lookout for incredible opportunities - who knows what shenanigans the future holds for us!
We want to acknowledge that we gather and play, as Moms Gone Wild, on the unceeded and ancestral territories of the Kwantlen and q̓íc̓əy̓ (Katzie) First Nations, and honour with gratitude the land itself and the people who have stewarded it throughout generations.
